Sr.Software Engineer., Alcatel-Lucent, Chennai

Main Responsibilities

•  Perform feasibility studies of the raised SW requirements and issues, analyze, identify and design implementation.
• Design, Develop implementation with efficient and reusable code.
• Verify and validate the solution to ensure implementation inline with the requirement.
• Enforce best of class SW practices.
• Ensure a good WW communication with other domains / teams.
• Maintain good documentation for the rest of the team

Experience and Competencies required

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Software engineer.
• Strong Computer Science Background of data driven systems, algorithms
• Expertise in embedded software programming (C/C++,(RTOS-Vxworks)).
• Good knowledge of configuration management systems (Clear case, Clear quest).
• Expertise in Datacom /IP networks and customer deployments.
• Expert understanding of L2/L3 product lines and detailed L2 (RSTP/MSTP/..) /L3 (IS-IS/BGP/OSPF/RIP) protocol knowhow.
• Keys skills: IEEE 802.1d, IEEE802.1p, IEEE 802.1q/Spanning tree protocols/ Link aggregation. /VPLS (IP/MPLS)/VPN, DSL access systems/Ethernet switching/packet switching.
• Preferred knowledge in Network Processor Skills
• Preferred knowledge in Broadcom chip family BCM56680.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Motivated Team player.
